The Cleveland Browns still don’t know who’s going to start for them at quarterback on Sunday.
However, even though they’ve refused to make an announcement, OC Alex Van Pelt may have hinted at rolling with Joe Flacco.
In his latest press conference, Van Pelt reminded everyone that other QBs like P.J. Walker have won games for the team this season, adding that Dorian Thompson-Robinson has done it as well.
By that same logic, he expects Joe Flacco to also win them a game down the stretch (via Tony Grossi).
Alex Van Pelt wouldn't say who's starting at QB but he did say this in another context:
PJ’s won two games for us, Dorian’s won a game for us, Joe’s going to win a game for us eventually down the road.'

Needless to say, that pretty much means the Browns are going to stick with the veteran gunslinger for the time being, and that might be the safest choice.
While not a mobile quarterback and no longer in his prime, Flacco has been there and done that, and he’s going to be unfazed by the pressure that comes with making a postseason push, and that could go a long way at this point in the season.
More than that, Flacco played mostly mistake-free football in his first game with the team, not to mention his willingness to sling the football down the field, which is something we hadn’t seen from a Browns quarterback in quite a while.
Joe Flacco is far from flawless, and fans are right to have reservations about him, especially at this point in his career.
Then again, he’s simply the Browns’ biggest — and perhaps only — chance to cap this season off with a trip to the playoffs.
