New Era Debuts Ridiculous New Indians Hat For The Summer

The Cleveland Indians are preparing to make a name change sometime in the near future.

That means the “Block C” will dominate apparel until that new name finally debuts.

Indians fans have plenty of opinions on the “Block C” as it is now.

The company New Era decided to take the opinions to a whole new level with an absolutely ridiculous Indians hat.

Prepare yourself, it is amazing.

if you like clip art and area codes and fifth grade art projects and wait is that a pierogi and good grief enough with the guitars – then boy do i have a hat for you

This is not just an Indians thing as every team got one of these, making MLB Twitter run wild Tuesday afternoon.

Breaking Down the Terrible Hat

This, to put it simply, just looks silly.

There is too much going on and it truly looks like a little kid made this.

First on the front we have the 216 area code.

Something like that belongs on the back or, more accurately, not on the hat in small script at all.

Next up is the acoustic guitar.

Some Cleveland sports fans are going to lose their mind if a national company has one more guitar logo for the city.

And if there is going to be a guitar, at least make it electric and cool.

But this is only the beginning of all the random art on the hat.

The best part of all has to be the pierogi on the back.

Without an explanation it is very hard to figure out what it even is.

Is that pie crust?

Or a taco?

It is possible the company was trying to come up with the most bizarre design possible, get roasted, and have people buy these ironically.

However, it is more likely that a bunch of out-of-touch people got paid too much money to come up with this design.

The best part is that the Indians hat isn’t even the worst of them all.

Other Amazingly Bad Designs

The Houston Astros got a meta design with a hat, on a hat.

Then we have the Milwaukee Brewers and a badger that looks concerned.

All of the new MLB “Local Market” hats are wild stupid but…….the Brewers one is definitely the best. pic.twitter.com/copiZHDfQy

The team at New Era had no idea what to do for the Pittsburgh Pirates so they kept it simple with a steel beam.

Every single New ERA MLB local hat is ATROCIOUS. pic.twitter.com/1f2dnZPxdw

— Anthony DiPiero (@AnthonyDiPiero7) May 25, 2021

The use of area codes appeared to be random as well and the whale on the Seattle Mariners hat proves this is arguably the biggest fashion offense in MLB history.

As an update, it appears these hats have been taken off New Era’s site.

That could either be a mistake or someone at the company finally sat down and looked at the final product.

So if anyone put in an order, this may be the coolest hat to own.

The headpiece accomplishes the goal of showing off your favorite team and also showing you come from a city where they have guitars.

What’s not to love about that?

About Steven Kubitza

Steven has been an Indians fan since the day he was born. Lucky enough to not remember the World Series losses in the 90s, he will never forget the magic and the heartbreak of Game 7 in 2016. He wore the No. 13 playing baseball growing up because of Omar and still rocks a Cody Allen jersey for good luck.
