Jose Ramirez provided Cleveland Indians fans with some legitimate fear Wednesday night.
He was at the plate during the first game of the doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers and fouled a pitch right off his face.
Ramirez collapsed to the ground but luckily was able to get back up and continue the at-bat.
The Indians cannot afford an injury to their star player and some positive updates did come throughout the night.
Let’s take a look at that and a few other updates from the organization.
Ramirez The Warrior
Terry Francona said José RamÃrez was taken to Lutheran Hospital just to make sure everything is OK after his face started to swell up.
"I think everyone thinks he's fine, but nothing to mess around with."

Ramirez is some sort of superhuman because he stayed in and finished his at-bat after the foul ball to the face.
It was clear right away the swelling had begun, but he was not going anywhere.
He was not out there for game two on the night because he had to go to the hospital.
There was no reason to put him out there anyway in what was a late, miserable game for those brave enough to stay in attendance.
If Ramirez is indeed fine, he should be good to go for the upcoming series against the Houston Astros.
The way he was able to step into the box after hitting himself in the face shows how he is built different than us mere mortals.
An Upcoming Surgery
A good, but also bad, injury update comes regarding the status of Josh Naylor.
The bad news is obviously that he suffered a gruesome ankle injury over the weekend.
The good news is he is set for surgery Friday and can begin the recovery process soon after.
#Indians OF Josh Naylor will undergo surgery Friday to address his "multiple fibula fractures and ligament tearing."

Seeing Naylor go down in such pain was a scary sight and seeing the actual injury shows why he was writhing in pain.
Hopefully, everything goes smoothly and his recovery can start as soon as possible.
Yet even if he is feeling great near the end of the season, there is no need to rush him back, regardless of where the team is in the standings.
A Precautionary Exit
Roberto Perez is currently on a rehab assignment in Akron and was pulled after being hit on the hand.
Roberto Pérez was pulled from his rehab game in Akron as a precaution with a right hand contusion.

The bad news just kept on coming, but Perez was ultimately cleared as the removal was considered a precaution.
It’s not like he is down there to help the RubberDucks win, so taking him out was the right move.
So to recap, Ramirez and Perez appear to be just fine, even if they are nursing some nasty bruises.
Naylor is set for surgery, as expected, and we will stay updated on his progress following the procedure.
Franmil Reyes is expected back soon and so is Zach Plesac.
So while bad news has come out, more good is on the horizon.
